First Time Visitors
Visiting a new church can cause some anxiety, so we want to do our best to take away any concerns you might have before you even arrive! Here are some things you might want to know before you visit.
First Presbyterian Church of Napa is an active, growing, and dynamic family of Christ, offering opportunities for worship, fellowship, education, and service, to all age groups. The church is located at the corner of Third and Randolph Streets in historic downtown Napa.

When you arrive at our campus, you will immediately see ample free parking available in the parking lot across from the Sanctuary door. There is also free parking on many of the side streets surrounding the church.
There is a drop-off area in front of the Sanctuary for those needing assistance, and, if needed, a wheelchair accessible lift located just to the left of the Sanctuary doors through the Winter Entrance.
Look for the friendly faces of our greeters in front of the church who will direct you to our Welcome Center, make a name tag for you, and answer any questions you might have. There are also brochures and publications available, which will help you discover the great opportunities our church has to offer.
As you enter the Sanctuary, ushers will happily give you a bulletin with an Order of Worship and special announcements, and assist you in finding a place to sit. If you need the use of our nursery, worship aids – such as large print hymnals or our new and improved hearing aid assistant devices, or packets containing worship activities designed for children, an usher can assist you with these as well.
Traditional Worship 9:00 a.m.
This service follows a traditional worship order complete with an adult choir and pianist who lead in the best of the cherished traditional songs of our faith. Inspired preaching will move you and encourage you to draw closer to God. Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion or The Eucharist, is served on the first Sunday of each month (except in April, when it will take place on April 8). Sunday School for elementary aged children is available in the Chapel. Parents may check in children a few minutes prior to 9, or during the Welcome and Announcements at the beginning of worship. An usher or greeter would be happy to bring you over for check-in if you are running late!
Contemporary Worship 10:30 a.m.
Please note: For Easter Sunday, April 1, both services will be held in the traditional format.
The 10:30 contemporary worship service is a casual, come-as-you are kind of service. We believe that God meets each of us right where we are – just as we are. Contemporary music and a time of prayer are followed by an inspiring sermon. Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion or The Eucharist, is served on the first Sunday of each month. Children’s Sunday School, The PATH, meets during this worship hour. Families meet in worship, and the children are dismissed to their classes at the beginning of worship. Adult Sunday School also meets at this time.
So, wear jeans, grab a cup of coffee, and know that whether you’re questioning what God is all about, or spending time with Him daily, we’re glad you’re here!
Sunday School for Children
9 & 10:30 a.m. Children in preschool through 5th grade are invited to come and grow with us! At First Presbyterian Church of Napa, we feel that Sunday School is a vital part of nurturing children to grow in their faith. Children’s faith is formed through worship, hearing and reading Bible stories, and through participating in activities of all kinds as we learn the Bible story for the week.
At the 9 a.m. service, children can check-in at the Chapel a few minutes before the service begins, or meet the Children’s Ministry assistant in the Welcome Center during the Welcome and Announcements at the beginning of the service.
All children meet in worship with their families at 10:30 a.m., then are dismissed to Sunday School during the Welcome and Announcements at the beginning of the service.
Please know that we heartily welcome children in both of our worship services. Worship related activity bags are available in the Welcome Center. If you have need of our nursery caregivers, the ushers will be happy to direct you to them.
Following the Services…
Following both the 9 and 10:30 a.m. services, we invite you to join us for refreshments and a chance to meet you and get to know you, and you, us! We look forward to seeing you and praising the Lord with you.
