Meet The Session
In the Presbyterian Church, the Session is the governing council of the congregation, composed of ruling elders and the church's pastor. It is responsible for the spiritual oversight of the community, including providing for worship, administering the Sacraments and managing the church's finances, personnel and property. It leads the congregation in its mission and guides its witness to the sovereign activity of God in the world, so that the congregation becomes a community of faith, hope and love.
Ruling elders are ordained to the ministry of discernment and governance, chosen by the congregation to exercise leadership and spiritual discernment alongside the pastor. Their primary role is to strengthen and nurture the faith and life of the community, ensuring the church remains faithful to the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
